Just looked thru most topics-nobody made mention of those great ROAST PORK on GARLIC BREAD sandwiches at Herbies in Loch Sheldrake- they were great!!! Will never forget them
The very BEST roast pork on Garlic Bread was I believe at the Triangle Diner in Liberty, at the foot of the hill that led to Grossinger's, although it was actually in the back of the diner, maybe called Duke's?
Lefty's for their onion soup, Canton for decent Chinese, Kaplan's and Schwartz's for great Jewish deli, Fountainlou and Sandel's ice cream parlors and finally, Chow Chow Cup.
The BEST Roast Pork on garlice bread sandwich was at Pop-Ins on Rt 42 in South Fallsburg. Gerard, the owner, cured and aged his own pork in the basement, and the sandwich was on toastedherro bread, slathered with garlic and holding a good half pound of lean pork. A few packets of duck sauce and a cherry-lime rickey, and you were in heaven, if not neat. I miss it to this day!
Arthur Tanney-must say that over the years that I have viewed the Catskill website, I have really enjoyed reading your memory posts-you are a great writer-thank you!
